This age division is commonly known as "coach-pitch prep". Our goal is to teach the fundamentals of ball. We strive to develop skills such as the passing the ball 'overhanded', running after the ball when it is in play utilizing the 'alligator chomp' to pass back to their teammates, getting the hang of swinging the bat at "pitches" and running bases in the correct direction. We still use the TEE in this sport to make a ball into play for the kids, there are no "strikeouts" for this age. This activity prepares them for aging up into the next age division of actual coach pitch ball. This is a prerequisite to 8u division.
